Liverpool FC have praised Egyptian star Mohamed Salah after he achieved a new Premier League record.

Mohamed Salah topped the list of players with the most goal contributions in the Premier League (scoring and assisting) with one club, thanks to his decisive pass during Liverpool's match against Brighton, reaching 277 in his career with Liverpool, surpassing Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.

Liverpool posted a 52-minute video on its official platform, featuring all 277 of Mohamed Salah’s goals and assists in the English Premier League with Liverpool, in celebration of his new record.

The video was titled: "Record Breaker... Watch all of Mohamed Salah's goals and assists with Liverpool in the English Premier League."

This celebration came after the relationship between the club and Salah became extremely strained following statements he made last week, after sitting on the bench for three consecutive matches.

Salah accused the Reds of abandoning and letting him down, adding that his relationship with Dutch coach Arne Slot had collapsed, and he also questioned his future with the club.

The 33-year-old, who has been linked with a move to the Saudi league, added to the doubts about his future after the Africa Cup of Nations, saying: "I told my family to come to the Brighton game. I don't know if I will play or not, but I will enjoy it in my mind, and I will enjoy it because it may be the last one. I don't know what will happen after that."

Saturday’s match against Brighton was Salah’s last game before he travels to Egypt to participate with the “Pharaohs” in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, between December 21 and January 18, 2026.

Salah is Liverpool’s most prominent star and the club’s all-time top scorer in the English Premier League, and has won the Premier League Player of the Year award several times, but his performance has declined this season, as he has scored only 4 goals in 13 matches.
