She explained: "Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning Champions League title holder, had the lion's share of representation on the final lists, as the club is competing in the category of best men's club against Barcelona, Chelsea, Flamengo and Liverpool, while Paris Saint-Germain's manager, Luis Enrique, is competing for the best coach award with Xabi Alonso, the Real Madrid coach, Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal coach, Hansi Flick, the Barcelona coach, and Enzo Maresca, the Chelsea coach."
Paris Saint-Germain duo Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha made it to the final shortlist for the Player of the Year award, alongside Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe and Barcelona duo Rafinha and Lamine Yamal, while Mohamed Salah was left out of the final nominations.
Aitana BonmatĂ, midfielder for FC Barcelona Women and the Spanish national team, is looking to win the Player of the Year award for the third year in a row. She is joined on the final shortlist by Mariona Caldente of Spain and Arsenal, Melchie Domornay of Haiti and Lyon, Alexia Puteas of Spain and Barcelona, and Alessia Russo of England and Arsenal.
The final competition for the Women's Club of the Year award was between Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and Juventus.
