A political organization praises the elections held in the Southwest state.
The head of the youth political organization "Tilo Qarn," Abdiwali Osman Abdi, praised the conduct of the local elections held in Baidoa and other areas of Southwest State, describing them as "free and fair."Abdi stated that the elections were well-organized and saw a high voter turnout, commending the Somali Federal Government for implementing a system of "direct voting" for the first time in decades.
He added, “The Southwest State witnessed free and fair elections, and we thank the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and his government for achieving this milestone.” He also praised the role of the security forces in securing polling stations and the efforts of the National Electoral Commission, emphasizing that citizens demonstrated “political awareness and a desire to choose their representatives through the ballot box.”
The head of the political organization noted that representatives from his party participated in monitoring the electoral process, expressing his confidence in the results that will be announced by the National Electoral Commission.
Abdi called on opposition leaders to establish political parties and participate in the democratic process, affirming that the country is witnessing “rapid political development” in its path toward building democratic institutions.
