Salah predicted Arsenal would win the league nine months ago

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah's prediction that Arsenal would win the Premier League title last August proved accurate, as it came to pass on Tuesday following Manchester City's draw with Bournemouth. Manchester City, Arsenal's closest rivals, drew with Bournemouth on Tuesday, handing the Gunners their first league title in 22 years and their 14th overall, thus validating the Egyptian star's prediction.

During the Professional Footballers' Association awards ceremony last August, just one round later, when an Arsenal fan asked him if he thought they could clinch the title after finishing second three times in a row, Salah explained: "I think you have a great team this season as well as last season, so you have a really good chance. Arsenal are the favorites now because you have players who have been playing together for 5 years. I can't say I wish you luck, but I hope we can do it again."

Now, nine months after Salah's statement, defending champions Liverpool have yet to secure a Champions League spot before the final round of the season, and avoiding defeat against Brentford will certainly guarantee a top-five finish, and even a loss might be enough as Liverpool are ahead of Bournemouth, their only pursuer, on goal difference.
