The President of the Republic holds a meeting with a number of Somali poets and writers

 The President of the Republic, His Excellency Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a meeting today with a number of Somali poets and writers, during which they discussed the role of Somali writers and artists in raising societal awareness, building the state, and reviving a sense of national identity.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed his gratitude to the Somali poets for their prominent role in defending the state's existence, promoting Somali culture, and conveying messages of awareness to society. He emphasized that literature and poetry are fundamental pillars in rebuilding awareness and consolidating the unity of the Somali people.

Also participating in the meeting was the President’s Advisor for Public Awareness and Education, Mr. Abdirahman Abdirahman Abdi, where the Somali poets presented the President with visions and proposals related to developing culture, promoting the spirit of patriotism, harnessing Somali creativity to serve peace, consolidating state institutions, and driving development in the country.
