The President of the Republic congratulates the new leadership of the Southwest State House of Representatives
His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, congratulated the new leadership of the South West State House of Representatives on gaining the confidence of Parliament in the elections held today in Baidoa.His Excellency congratulated Dr. Mahdi Mohamed Sheikh Hassan on his election as Speaker of the Council, Adam Hassan Mohamed (Osama) on his election as First Deputy Speaker, and Ms. Shams Mohamed Yero on her election as Second Deputy Speaker.
The President urged the elected officials to dedicate themselves to performing their national duties with efficiency and high responsibility, calling on them to play an active role in promoting the values of good governance, consolidating the democratic system, and exerting every effort to serve the aspirations and interests of the people of Southwest State.
His Excellency also commended the peaceful and democratic atmosphere that prevailed during the electoral process, expressing his appreciation to the members of the Southwest State Parliament for their commitment to their constitutional responsibilities and their positive contribution to supporting and strengthening state institutions.
