The Minister of Finance in the Somali government, Dr. Elmi Mahmoud Nour, received today, Sunday, the Director of the World Bank's office in Somalia, Christina Svensson. The meeting between Minister Elmi and Mrs. Svenson dealt with the reform of the Somali financial system and the technical and financial support provided by the World Bank to Somalia.
The meeting also touched on strengthening relations and cooperation between the World Bank and the new Somali government and the development projects implemented by the Bank in the country. On Saturday, the Minister of Finance, Dr. Elmi Mahmoud Nour, received the Chairman of the Financial Governance Committee in his office in the capital, Mogadishu.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance government efforts to reform the country's financial system. The minister stressed that the Ministry of Finance is determined to improve the country's financial system.
