Saving the country - September 01, 2022 Prime Minister Hamzah and CEO of the World Bank Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Berri met with the World Bank Representative in Somalia, Christina Svensson, and they discussed strengthening cooperation and drought relief.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed enhancing cooperation between the World Bank and the Somali government, and reviewed charitable activities and aid for those affected by the drought. Christina briefed the Prime Minister on the various development activities carried out by the World Bank in Somalia, especially the efforts and humanitarian aid to help those affected by the drought that hit parts of the Somali Republic.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Berri thanked the World Bank for its support for Somalia, and encouraged it to work closely with government agencies to implement plans and programs of interest to the government. The World Bank provides financial support to the Federal Government of Somalia, and the Bank has also financed various projects that have been implemented in some parts of Somalia.
