 The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works presented; A shipment of aid to Somalia consisting of 193 tons of relief materials and supplies, delivered by the UAE Embassy in the port of Mogadishu, in the presence of Saif Ali Rash, representative of the UAE Embassy, ​​His Excellency Mahmoud Muallem, Chairman of the National Authority for Somali Disaster Management, and Abdulaziz Othman, Deputy Mayor of Mogadishu for Affairs Social, and members of the Somali National Drought Response Committee.

The supplies will be distributed to poor and needy families and the displaced in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, with a focus on the camps for the displaced in its vicinity. The delivery of this shipment comes as part of the programs implemented by humanitarian and charitable institutions in the UAE, to provide relief to those affected by the severe drought that struck Somalia on a large scale and to provide them with assistance. In the past, several ships loaded with various foodstuffs were sent to Somalia, and they arrived at the ports of Mogadishu and Kismayo, "Jubaland region." Bosaso (Puntland region) and Berbera (Somaliland region). 

The Somali officials, who attended the ceremony of handing over the shipment, expressed their thanks and appreciation to the UAE leadership, government and people for their continuous support to the Somali people in facing drought and water scarcity by providing relief aid.

The UAE has started assisting Somalia since the beginning of the current humanitarian crisis caused by the drought disaster, after the scarcity of rain during the past four seasons, and it also continues to support and provide relief to those affected in the affected areas, at a time when another aid ship operated by the Emirates Red Crescent Authority is expected to arrive carrying thousands of tons of materials. Relief.
