A technical glitch occurred in the social networking site "Facebook" that caused certain accounts to send friend requests without the consent of their owners to other accounts. The company, "Meta", which owns "Facebook", acknowledged the error, and stated, according to what was reported by the American "Fox News" network, on Friday, that it had fixed the malfunction.
The matter concerns users who secretly check the accounts of other users via Facebook. "We have notified users about a new update to the Facebook app that caused friend requests to be sent incorrectly for a short period," said Meta's director of policy communications, Emile Vasquez.
He added, "We have stopped this from happening and canceled the friend requests that were sent as a result of this error," indicating the company's apology for any inconvenience that may have occurred.
