The Somali Police Force discusses security strategy in the capital, Mogadishu
Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullah, Commander of the Somali Police, held a crucial meeting with the leaders of police stations and units in the capital, Mogadishu, to address pressing security issues in the capital. The aim of the meeting was to strengthen the security framework and enhance community participation.Commander Assad stressed the need for the police to preserve the rights of citizens and treat detainees with dignity. “Our mission is to protect and serve the community with integrity and respect,” he said during the discussions. By doing so, we can gain the trust and cooperation of the public.”
The meeting also addressed broader strategies needed to enhance security in the capital, with a focus on preventive measures against the backdrop of ongoing regional instability. The meeting highlighted the role of the police not only in maintaining law and order but also in building a cooperative relationship with the people of Mogadishu.
Mogadishu Police Director, Maalim Mahdi, who attended the meeting, expressed his support for the commander's vision, stressing the importance of a police force working side by side with the community for mutual benefit and safety.
