Reports from the Mudug region in the center of the country indicated that 25 Al-Shabaab fighters were killed in the “Gadi” and “Shabiliu” areas in the region. The reports added that the Somali army and its allied militias were able to destroy positions of fighters in the two regions and destroy some of their military vehicles.

The allied forces also carried out pursuit operations for fighters in the “Koridi” and “Qarili” areas, west of the town of “Amara” in the recently liberated Madug region.

It is noteworthy that in the past few days, Al-Shabaab has lost control of many areas located in the south of Mudug region, where the army and local militias were able to extend influence in areas that had been administered by Al-Shabaab for many years.
