China donates one million dollars to those affected by the El Niño phenomenon in Somalia

The Chinese government has made a financial donation of one million US dollars to those affected by floods caused by the El Niño phenomenon in Somalia.

The vital donation, which Somali National Disaster Management Agency Commissioner Mohamud Maalim Abdullahi received from the Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Fei Xingchao, will be used to alleviate the plight of vulnerable communities suffering from the devastating effects of the climate phenomenon.

This donation for logistical support will also be used primarily to transport food aid that China will soon provide to remote and hard-to-reach areas inside Somalia. This crucial assistance will ensure equitable distribution of life-saving supplies to communities facing food insecurity, malnutrition and displacement due to prolonged drought.
