The President receives the British Ambassador to Somalia
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, received the British Ambassador to Somalia, Mike Nithavrianakis, at the presidential complex in Mogadishu.
The discussion focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between the United Kingdom and Somalia, addressing the impact of the El Niño phenomenon, and preparations for the upcoming World Food Summit scheduled to be held in the United Kingdom soon.
The United Kingdom is considered one of the countries that support Somalia in various fields, and three days ago it granted 4 million pounds sterling to Action Against Hunger. To address the El Niño phenomenon and provide emergency health care, nutrition, water and sanitation to about one million Somalis who were affected by the floods that swept various Somali regions.
