The President chairs the National Security Council meeting
The President of the Republic, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, chaired a meeting of the National Security Council, which discussed security developments in the country and efforts made in the war against Al-Shabaab.The meeting, which was also attended by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Berri, the Ministers of Interior and Defense, and leaders of the security services, discussed the importance of accelerating operations to eliminate terrorists and preparing for the plan for the national army to take over security responsibility after the withdrawal of African forces from the country.
The President reviewed the reports of the security development plan in the country, and urged the security services to implement the procedures to control weapons and ammunition that are planned to be administered in the country after the arms embargo on Somalia is lifted.
