Somali police seize 140 Al-Shabaab mortar shells in Mogadishu

Somali police forces succeeded in seizing 140 mortar shells in an operation targeting Al-Shabaab militants in Mogadishu. According to police spokesman Qasim Ahmed Robli, this operation was in response to recent mortar attacks launched by terrorists inside the city.

The spokesman linked the fires that broke out in Mogadishu's main Bakaru market to explosives hidden by militants in an area of the market, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the capital.

In his speech on the occasion, the President indicated that his priority is to reform the army, eliminate Al-Shabaab and restore law and order in the entire country before his term ends in 2026.
