Appointment of a Somali politician as Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia

 Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed appointed Adam Farah as head of the Democratic System Building Coordination Center with the rank of deputy prime minister. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the appointment is effective as of April 1, 2024. The Democratic System Building Center in the Prime Minister's Office is a new office in the Ethiopian government structure.

Adam Farah currently holds the positions of deputy and head of the Center of the Prosperity Party, the ruling party in Ethiopia, and it has not been clarified whether he will retain both positions or not.

Adam Farah, a politician from the Somali Regional Government of Ethiopia, especially from Seti Region, has held various positions in the past. He served as Chairman of the Ethiopian Federation Council, Vice President of the Somali Region and previously served as Mayor of Darretby.

The Somali Regional Government and Somali Nationalism in Ethiopia welcomed Adam's new position, considering this appointment a victory for the people of the Somali Regional Government.
