The President of Somalia extends congratulations to the government and people of Eritrea on the occasion of Independence Day

 The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, extended his warmest congratulations to the government and people of Eritrea on the occasion of their 33rd Independence Day.

In his congratulatory message on the occasion of Eritrea's Independence Day, the Somali President wished his Eritrean counterpart, Isaias Afwerki, good health and the Eritrean people peace and prosperity. Eritrea is a close ally of Somalia and has trained thousands of Somali forces, who have received regular and specialized training, including the Somali Naval Force.

It should be noted that relations between Somalia and Eritrea have improved in recent years, as the two countries concluded a number of agreements in defense, security, diplomatic and political cooperation for the common renaissance between the two countries.
