The Prime Minister of Somalia meets the Iraqi President

 On Wednesday, Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre met with the President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Abdul Latif Rashid, in Manama, Bahrain, to discuss strengthening relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Berri discussed with the Iraqi President strengthening cooperation and common interests between the two peoples, as well as exchanging experiences in the security field. The meeting touched on - according to the Somali government - the interests of the two countries that benefit the two peoples, especially in the areas of economy, culture, education and health.

The Somali Prime Minister stressed the long-term relationship between Somalia and Iraq based on the common interests of the two countries, noting that the Somali and Iraqi governments are making efforts to eliminate terrorist groups in their countries.
