Two Egyptian military planes arrive at Mogadishu airport
On Tuesday, two Egyptian military planes arrived at Adam Adde International Airport in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, carrying military equipment and officers to help Somalia in the coming days.
The arrival of Egyptian military assets is part of a broader strategic realignment in the Horn of Africa region, as Somalia seeks to strengthen its military capabilities through international partnerships.
This comes as Egypt prepares to participate in the African Union Support Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), which is scheduled to replace the current African Union Transitional Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) by January 2025.
