Djibouti chairs the African Peace and Security Council
The African Union announced that the Republic of Djibouti will assume the rotating presidency of the African Union Peace and Security Council during the current month of December.A statement issued by the Peace and Security Council stated that the work agenda for December includes providing information on the security situation and peace issues on the continent.
The Council is scheduled to discuss the current situation in the Horn of Africa region, in addition to several other important issues. It will also continue to follow up on decisions taken during its previous sessions, and consider the regional implications of conflicts in the region.
