Saudi club Al-Nassr announced early Sunday morning the official signing of Spanish defender Iñigo Martínez from Barcelona on a free transfer.
Martínez joined Barcelona in the summer of 2023 after professional experience with Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad, where he played a prominent role in the Catalan club's domestic treble victory last season.
Iñigo Martínez played 46 matches last season in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists in 3,976 minutes of action.
Martinez becomes Al-Nassr's fourth signing of the summer, following Portuguese Joao Felix and local duo Abdulmalik Al-Jaber and Nader Al-Sharari.
It's worth noting that Al-Nassr will play a friendly match against Spanish club Almeria on Sunday evening as part of its training camp currently being held in Portugal, in preparation for the new season, which will begin with an anticipated clásico against Al-Ittihad in the semi-finals of the 2025 Saudi Super Cup, which will be hosted in Hong Kong from August 19 to 23.
