Egyptian Mohamed Salah, Liverpool star and captain of the Egyptian national team, has been named the Professional Footballers' Association's Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season, following his remarkable performance in leading his team to the Premier League title.

Mohamed Salah became the first player in the competition's history to win this award three times, having previously won it in the 2017-2018 and 2021-2022 seasons.

The Egyptian star's coronation came thanks to his exceptional numbers, as he finished last season topping both the goalscoring and assisting lists, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists.

The Egypt national team captain also achieved an unprecedented feat, collecting the Professional Footballers' Association, Premier League, and Football Writers' Association Player of the Year awards, in addition to the Golden Boot and Best Playmaker awards in a single season.

Liverpool FC commented on its X account, saying: "The King... Salah has been crowned the 2025 Premier League Player of the Year by the Professional Footballers' Association."
