Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, a Paris Saint-Germain player, sent a message to the "Cubs" on Sunday ahead of their U-20 World Cup final against Argentina.
"First, congratulations on the great work you're doing, and for making us shine at the World Cup," Hakimi said in a video message posted by FIFA on its social media pages.
He added: "Now we have one final mission to accomplish. We are all behind you. We are proud of you. Always Morocco. Come on, guys."
Football fans will be watching the Julio MartÃnez Pradanos National Stadium in the Chilean capital, Santiago, on Sunday night, where the Moroccan U-20 national team will face Argentina to decide who will be the world champion in this category.
The Moroccan national team had an exceptional journey in this tournament, which enabled them to reach the final match with merit and worthiness, after a heroic performance through which they proved their ability to keep up with the major international teams. The Atlas Cubs were able to top the so-called "Group of Death", after defeating Spain (2-0) and Brazil (2-1), before stumbling in a formal match against Mexico (1-0) after securing qualification.
In the knockout stages, the Cubs continued their brilliance, defeating the Republic of Korea (2-1) in the round of 16, then the United States (3-1) in the quarter-finals, before defeating the French national team (5-4 on penalties), securing their place in the final.
