Mbappe clears Real Madrid of medical scandal
Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé addressed his knee injury and the controversy surrounding a misdiagnosis by the Spanish club's medical staff, stating that winning the World Cup, to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada next summer, will be a difficult task.Reports carried by the French network RMC indicated that Real Madrid, which had dismissed its medical staff last January, was without Mbappé due to a misdiagnosis of his knee injury, which resulted in the player traveling to France for treatment with the national team doctor.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of France's match against Brazil in the United States, Mbappé said: "I've never been a man or a player who has regrets. I always look to the present and the future of the team. I'm happy that my knee feels good, and in a way, I owe that to the club. I'm very happy here and in good health."
During the conference, Mbappé addressed several topics, including his ability to play a full match, stating that the coach decides whether to start him or play him for a few minutes. Mbappe also praised his teammate Ousmane Dembele, the Paris Saint-Germain player and Ballon d'Or winner, saying in statements reported by RMC: "He gives a lot to the national team. His presence with us is wonderful and extraordinary, and we are convinced of his importance to us. If he plays like he plays for his club, we have a great chance of winning."
Regarding the match against Brazil, Mbappé said: "It's extremely important. Brazil is a major footballing nation, and this gives us an idea of what will happen at the World Cup next summer, in terms of the atmosphere and the fans."
Mbappé was also asked about his ambitions to win the World Cup as captain of his national team, to which he replied: "It's very difficult and rare. With time, you understand the importance of things. You have to live in the moment and understand the significance of these things and tournaments. It would be fantastic to win, both for me and for the players and the French national team."
