The international break frustrates Vinicius after his impressive performances with Real Madrid
Real Madrid and Brazil star Vinicius Junior has expressed his frustration at the arrival of the March international break, given his recent impressive form with the Spanish giants. Vinicius scored twice to lead Real Madrid to a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in England last week, securing their place in the Champions League quarter-finals against Bayern Munich. The Brazilian continued his fine form with another brace, contributing to Real Madrid's 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid in the Madrid derby on Sunday, in the 29th round of La Liga. With this victory, Real Madrid maintained their four-point gap with arch-rivals Barcelona, the league leaders and defending champions, with nine rounds remaining.
Following the derby, Vinicius Jr. told the club's channel: "It's unfortunate that we have to stop now, as the team is on a run of positive results. But we'll be joining our national teams, and I hope all the players return without injuries, because we're approaching the most important stage of the season."
Regarding the Madrid derby win, the Brazilian star said: "I'm very happy with the match we played and controlled from the start. I'm also happy to have scored two goals, but credit also goes to the fans, the coaching staff, and my teammates who worked hard in training throughout the week."
Vinicius continued in comments published on Real Madrid's official website: "I feel very happy, and I work hard for these tough matches. I'm always improving at this stage of the season. I don't know what's happening to me, but I'm scoring goals and providing assists." The Brazilian star concluded his remarks by saying: "The club president always asks me to score two goals in every match, and I dedicate my goal against Atlético Madrid to him."
