The President of the Republic inaugurates the headquarters of the Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport

 President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud inaugurated the new headquarters of the Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport in Mogadishu today, a move that underscores the government's commitment to strengthening maritime infrastructure and supporting economic growth.

During the inauguration ceremony, the President emphasized that the Federal Government places particular importance on modernizing the country's ports, developing and protecting maritime affairs, and prioritizing maritime security, the preservation of natural resources, and the protection of the marine environment to ensure the sustainability of Somalia's maritime wealth for future generations.

The President explained that the government is committed to making the maritime sector a cornerstone of economic growth by strengthening maritime security, improving the management of marine resources, and preventing the degradation of the marine environment, thereby contributing to the support of the national economy.

The President toured the various sections of the new Ministry building, which is expected to contribute to the development of maritime trade and enhance Somalia's relations with international markets. He commended the Ministry staff for their efforts in improving essential services and supporting the country's development.
