The Somali ambassador to Egypt participates in a meeting of accredited delegates to the League of Arab States.

 Ambassador Ali Abdi Awari, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, participated today, Wednesday, in a meeting of permanent representatives to the League of Arab States with the President of Finland, Mr. Alexander Stubb. The meeting, organized by the League's General Secretariat at its headquarters, was also attended by Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

In a statement, the Somali Ambassador emphasized the importance of this visit in strengthening communication and dialogue between Arab states and the Republic of Finland, which will contribute to expanding the horizons of joint cooperation in various fields, particularly in sustainable development, education, and innovation.

He noted that the meeting provided an important opportunity to exchange views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, emphasizing the Federal Republic of Somalia's commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at strengthening security and stability and achieving development in the region.

The Somali ambassador also commended the role of the League of Arab States in promoting joint Arab action and coordinating positions with international partners, stressing that such meetings contribute to building effective partnerships that serve common interests and support development and peace efforts.

The Somali ambassador added that the Federal Republic of Somalia places particular importance on strengthening its relations with European countries, including Finland, in a way that serves mutual interests and supports reconstruction and institution-building efforts. He noted his country's desire to benefit from Finland's advanced expertise in education, technology, and good governance.

He concluded by affirming that Somalia continues to pursue a foreign policy based on openness, cooperation, and partnership with various countries, which enhances its regional and international presence and contributes to realizing its people's aspirations for development, stability, and prosperity.
