The Minister of Defense stressed the importance of protecting citizens' data and developing digital systems.
His Excellency Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Somalia, emphasized the importance of protecting citizens' data, considering it a fundamental pillar of national security and the development of government services.This came during his participation today in the launch ceremony for data user registration, organized by the Somali Data Protection Authority, in the presence of government officials and representatives from several relevant institutions.
In his address at the event, His Excellency the Minister indicated that this step will contribute to enabling government institutions to manage citizens' data securely and effectively, thereby enhancing the efficiency of government services and increasing trust in digital systems.
His Excellency also commended the efforts made by the Somali Data Protection Authority during the past period, particularly in developing data protection systems and raising awareness of information security. The Minister of Defense called for continued efforts to protect citizens' data, which will contribute to providing more efficient and reliable government services and keep pace with the digital transformation underway in state institutions.
