"Tik Tok" precedes the communication platforms with a new feature

The "Tik Tok" application launched a new feature that enables the user to convert written texts into images, and thus use them as a background for shooting video clips. The new feature is called "AI GeenScreen", as it enables the user to design any image that expresses any topic he intends to discuss during the video he will broadcast.

This feature is considered primitive when compared to systems specialized in converting texts into images, where simple images are designed that are more artistic than realistic. The limitations of the new feature's capabilities may be intentional, because rendering more realistic images would require massive computing power.

"Tik Tok is the first social platform that offers this feature to its users, at a time when smart engines for creating images from texts are still relatively new," said Fadi Ramzy, a digital media expert, lecturer at the American University in Cairo.

Ramzy adds to "Sky News Arabia", that "the change in line with the requirements of the user in time from the nature of social media, and the provision of new features is a reflection of that, where writing was the first method of expression, visual content has become the most attractive language for users now."

And the digital media expert continues, "Tik Tok preceded the rest of the social media platforms in terms of providing new features, and it has become the nature of the platform in recent years, just as Tik Tok was a pioneer in providing short video clips, which became among the most attractive to other platforms, especially Facebook. He wanted to be ahead of everyone by launching the technology of converting texts into images.

He explained that "the launch of the new feature does not go beyond being part of the competition that Tik Tok is waging against other platforms to attract its audience, led by Facebook users, and therefore it always seeks to change the form of content and increase the number of users that leads to attracting more advertisers and thus accumulating profits."

The number of Tik Tok users is about 1.2 billion monthly active users, according to recent statistics, and the popularity of the application has increased significantly among young people and adolescents around the world since 2020.
