Mogadishu – The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Sheikh Adem Mohamud Nur "Maddobe," delivered a speech at the consultative conference held in the capital, Mogadishu, on Wednesday. He affirmed the parliament's commitment to strengthening governance through legislative reform.

In his speech, Maddobe reviewed the country's past and the challenges it faced, saying, "This conference is not just a platform for consultation; it is a testament to the progress we have made as a nation, and the progress we still have to make together."

He emphasized the need for a unified national approach to addressing the remaining obstacles to state-building and constitutional reform, emphasizing that cooperation and inclusiveness must remain central to Somalia's democratic transition.

The Speaker noted that Parliament has made significant progress in reviewing the interim constitution, a key step toward providing a comprehensive legal framework for the Federal Republic of Somalia.

The National Consultative Conference continues to serve as a platform for dialogue between federal and regional leaders, with the aim of fostering consensus on national priorities, including constitutional reform, governance, and reconciliation.
