The Prime Minister urges the people of Jubaland to contribute to the fight against Al-Shabaab
Somali Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, urged the residents of Jubbaland Regional State to contribute to the war against Al-Shabaab and support his government in liberating the remaining areas under the movement’s control.Berri indicated that a large-scale military operation is scheduled to begin in Jubbaland in the coming weeks, as part of the second phase of operations against the militants. The Prime Minister revealed that additional forces will be deployed to areas in Jubbaland Regional State, stressing the need to support the local population in the war against Al-Shabaab.
Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, recently confirmed his government's commitment to expel Al-Shabaab fighters from the country, explaining that the federal government will not negotiate with the fighters.
