The United States reaffirms its support for Somalia in the war against Al-Shabaab

 The United States of America reiterated its support for the Somali federal government in the war against the Al-Shabaab movement, which weakens Somalia and wants to destroy the Somali people.

The US Embassy in Mogadishu said: “The United States supports Somalia’s efforts to weaken Al-Shabaab through various security assistance, including providing training and equipment to the “Dunb” Brigade of the Somali National Army.”

This came after talks held between representatives of the United States of America and the Commander of the Somali National Army, Major General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhyiddin, held at the headquarters of the American Embassy in Mogadishu.
