The President reviews the achievements of his government and acknowledges the challenges facing it

 In his speech on Friday, President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud reviewed the achievements achieved by his government, while at the same time acknowledging the challenges ahead.

The President pointed out that the Somali government has achieved success in the issues of debt forgiveness and regional integration with Somalia joining the East African Community, constitutional reform, combating extremism, and lifting the arms embargo on the country.

President Sheikh Mohamud stressed the importance of continuing the fight against Al-Shabaab to ensure Somalia's liberation and peace. He also stressed the need for a formal constitution to consolidate the country's legal framework and strengthen democracy.
