Somalia warns against illegal fishing in its territorial waters
The Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy of the Federal Government of Somalia has sent a warning to all vessels and companies carrying out illegal fishing in the territorial waters of Somalia.The ministry called for compliance with the Somali Fisheries Management and Development Act, especially Article 31, which specifies permitted fishing methods. The Ministry called on all parties to whom the warning was directed to assume their responsibilities in order to protect Somalia's marine resources and use them legally.
The Ministry strongly emphasized that all types or methods of fishing that violate the law are not permitted, and if they occur, they may lead to strict measures being taken against those who do so.
