The head of the National Disaster Management Authority meets with the representative of the Agricultural Food Organization

 Mr. Mahmoud Maalim Abdullahi, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority, met on Wednesday with the representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Somalia, Mr. Etianna Peterschmidt, at the Authority’s headquarters.

The meeting discussed strategic measures to mitigate flood risks and build dams, which is considered a proactive step to prevent recurring floods that pose a threat to the country. The urgent need to find emergency solutions to the expected rains was stressed, as the two organizations agreed to form ad hoc committees to address critical issues urgently.

The partnership between the National Disaster Management Authority and FAO represents a proactive approach to disaster management, reflecting a shared commitment to protecting communities from natural disasters through collaborative efforts and strategic planning.
