The Somali president arrives in Oslo

 The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, arrived in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, on a 3-day working visit. President Mahmoud is scheduled to participate in the Oslo Forum 2024, a prestigious event that brings together global leaders and experts to discuss conflict resolution and peacebuilding.

A brief statement from the Somali presidency stated that the President will meet while in Oslo with the Norwegian Prime Minister to strengthen diplomatic relations and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The statement added that Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud will deliver a speech at the 2024 Oslo Annual Forum. During the visit, the President of the Republic is scheduled to hold various meetings with the Somali community residing in Norway and will discuss with them the general situation in the country and their role in rebuilding the nation.
