The President praises the army's victories in its operations in Jubbaland State

 The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, praised the Somali National Army for its victories over Al-Shabaab terrorists in areas of Jubbaland State. On Monday, the Somali government announced that more than 80 Al-Shabaab fighters were killed in fierce fighting in the Lower Juba region in the south of the country.

President Hassan Sheikh also praised the army for repelling terrorist militants who tried to attack the Bolu Haji and Harboli areas, and said that the army’s victory indicates the weakness of the militants and the strength of the army.

The National Army stated that the operation also led to the seizure of a large cache of weapons, including RPGs, PKM machine guns and Kalashnikov rifles. The Somali government, with the support of international partners, affirmed its commitment to eliminating the armed threat, and its steadfastness in its mission to protect the people and the country from these terrorist elements.

Colonel Ahmed Ali said: “Our forces, in cooperation with the Dervish forces of Jubbaland, succeeded in neutralizing more than 80 militants who posed a threat to the security of our country. “This operation demonstrates our commitment to eliminating Al-Shabaab and ensuring peace in the region.”
