The Somali Cabinet approves a memorandum of understanding with Abu Tobi Ports Group
At its weekly meeting, on Thursday, the Somali Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding with the UAE’s Abu Dhabi Ports Group, among other things. In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, the Council approved a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy and the ports company affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Ports Group.The Council also approved the review of government institutions for the fiscal year 2023, which describes in detail the process used and the various procedures the review went through. The Cabinet heard reports from the Ministries of Internal Security and Defense related to public security in the country and the difficult operations underway against Al-Shabaab fighters in the country.
He also heard a report on the conflicts in the town of Luuq from the Minister of State in the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, who was one of the members of the delegation sent by the government to the town. The federal government, with the help of the Jubaland regional government, succeeded in achieving a ceasefire between the conflicting parties in Luuq and resolving the problem through dialogue.
