The Somali President meets his Chinese counterpart
On Friday, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a special meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum. The Chinese President pledged to fulfill his country's promises to invest in Somalia, announcing support for the Somali government with 200 million yuan to implement priority plans for Somalia.The bilateral meeting between the two presidents discussed strengthening diplomatic relations, raising the level of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, and protecting the unity of the peoples of the two countries in accordance with international rules.
The meeting between the presidents of Somalia and China came at a time when President Hassan Sheikh is participating in the China-Africa Cooperation Forum and after the two countries reached agreements related to the development of Somalia.
