Somali Defense Minister: Jubaland bears responsibility for any confrontation with federal forces
The Minister of Defense in the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur “Jama” indicated that the Jubaland Regional Administration will bear responsibility for any confrontation between its forces and the forces of the Federal Government of Somalia.Jama explained that the Somali government sent 1,000 soldiers to the town of “Ras Kamboni” to strengthen the war against the Al-Shabaab movement, not to invade Jubaland, and stated that the aim of sending the forces is to eliminate Al-Shabaab militants.
The defense minister regretted that the Jubaland administration misled the people and spread rumors that federal troops had arrived in Ras Kamboni town to destroy the regional state. “The soldiers deployed to Ras Kamboni are from the Somali army to do their constitutional duty. Whoever confronts them with weapons will be held responsible,” Jama said.
