The President discusses with tribal sheikhs and intellectuals the liberation of areas under the control of terrorist groups
President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud met in the coastal city of Adali in the Middle Shabelle region with tribal sheikhs and intellectuals and discussed with them the efforts made by the federal government to liberate areas still under the control of terrorist groups.
The President and the participants in the meeting stressed the importance of supporting the Somali National Army in its operations to eliminate terrorism in the Middle Shabelle region, and the sheikhs and intellectuals praised President Mohamud’s commitment to accelerating the pace of combating terrorism and ensuring the security and stability of the region.
The President’s communication with local leaders and community figures indicates the comprehensive approach taken by his administration in confronting security challenges, as it aims, by strengthening cooperation between the government, the army, and local communities, to strengthen the collective resolve to defeat terrorism and restore peace in the region.
It is noteworthy that the President of Somalia arrived in the city of “Adalli” in the Middle Shabelle region, which was subjected weeks ago to a fierce attack by Al-Shabaab fighters who took control of a number of areas in the region, to raise the morale of government forces and local forces allied with them, which are trying to regain control of the areas that Al-Shabaab seized three weeks ago.
