The British Ambassador to Somalia participates in the London Marathon for the benefit of Somali children
The British Ambassador to Somalia, Mike Nithavrianakis, successfully completed the 2025 London Marathon, achieving his goal of raising funds to support Save the Children’s initiatives aimed at helping the most vulnerable children in Somalia.
In a statement, Ambassador Nithavrianakis said that he dedicated his participation in this marathon to support the humanitarian, educational and health efforts carried out by “Save the Children” in Somalia.
He pointed out that this initiative represents an opportunity to highlight the challenges faced by children in Somalia and work to improve their conditions.
For its part, the British Embassy in Mogadishu celebrated this achievement, describing the ambassador as a “hero in the field and beyond,” stressing that his participation embodies the United Kingdom’s continued commitment to supporting the Somali people, especially children who suffer from difficult humanitarian conditions.
