Somali National Army Ground Forces Commander Visits Middle Shabelle Frontlines, Encourages Troops
Mogadishu – The Somali National Army Ground Forces Commander, General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, visited the frontlines in Middle Shabelle region to encourage troops in their fight against terrorists. The areas he visited included the Ali Gudud Mosques, where the army is successfully conducting operations.
The General's visit came after the Somali National Army and local forces achieved significant successes and dealt a crushing blow to Al-Shabaab militants in recent days, capturing areas previously controlled by the enemy.
General Sahal commended the Somali National Army and local forces for their courage and determination to defend the homeland, urging them to fulfill their national duty and eliminate the enemy throughout the country.
The Commander noted that these victories indicate that the army is now more capable of liberating all territories controlled by the militants and that its determination will bring peace to the country. He urged soldiers to continue the struggle.
