Meta's Generous, But Failed, Attempt to Attract OpenAI Employees
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI (owner of ChatGPT), said that Meta offered bonuses of up to $100 million to his company's employees in an unsuccessful attempt to attract them and strengthen its generative AI teams.
Altman explained in the "Uncapped with Jack Altman" podcast, released Tuesday, that the Facebook parent company also offered "massive" annual salaries exceeding $100 million to some OpenAI employees.
He added: "It's crazy... I'm very happy that so far, none of our best employees have decided to take these offers."
Altman noted that Meta directed its offers to "a large number of our team members."
