Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said his Muslim players are accustomed to playing while fasting during Ramadan, stressing that it will not affect his team selection.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday ahead of Saturday's Premier League match against Leeds United, which will be played before Iftar (the breaking of the fast), Guardiola explained: "The fact that Muslim players are fasting does not affect my selections. They are capable of playing and can be relied upon."

Guardiola also spoke about the club's handling of Muslim players during Ramadan, saying: "They are observing their religious duties, and we have a nutritionist to help them perform at their best. Muslim players are used to playing while fasting, and it will not affect my squad selection."

He added: "At Manchester City, Muslim players such as Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Omar Marmouch and Abdulkader Khusanov are in constant contact with nutritionists and doctors to provide them with the necessary support."

On the other hand, Guardiola spoke about the Champions League round of 16 draw, which pitted his team against Real Madrid. Pep said, "I hope we have learned from our previous matches against Real Madrid. For our club, every time you play against the best team in the history of this competition, you learn, improve, and become better in the future." The winner of the Real Madrid-Manchester City tie will face the winner of the Atalanta-Bayern Munich match.
