The Prime Minister congratulates the people on the adoption of the new constitution.

 Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre congratulated members of the Federal Parliament and the Somali People's Assembly on the adoption and completion of the new Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

In an official statement, the Prime Minister affirmed that the completion of the Constitution represents a significant step towards strengthening state-building, consolidating democracy, and implementing a legal system based on accountability and transparency. He added that this achievement is the result of long-standing efforts, national consultations, and the will of the Somali people to have a comprehensive constitution that will guide the country's future.

Barre called on all state institutions to commit to implementing the constitution to ensure national unity, achieve justice, and promote sustainable development for current and future generations. He explained that the success of parliament, particularly the eleventh parliament, in finalizing the constitution also reflects the return of power to the Somali people to choose their leaders.
