Ronaldo has lost 14 titles since joining Al-Nassr
Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo has lost 14 titles since joining Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr in January 2023, the latest being the AFC Champions League 2 final, which he lost to Japan's Gamba Osaka on Saturday. Gamba Osaka defeated Al-Nassr 1-0 in the AFC Champions League 2 final, held at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh.Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 after terminating his contract with Manchester United in the lead-up to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In his first season, he lost the Saudi Super Cup in the semi-finals to Al-Ittihad and also lost the league title to the latter. He was also eliminated from the King's Cup semi-finals after losing to Al-Wahda.
In the following season, Al-Nassr and Ronaldo lost the Saudi Super Cup after being defeated by Al-Hilal in the semi-finals, and finished as runners-up to Al-Hilal in both the league and the King's Cup. They also exited the AFC Champions League in the quarter-finals after losing to Al-Ain of the UAE on penalties, while they won the King Salman Cup for Arab Clubs at the expense of Al-Hilal.
Last season, Cristiano Ronaldo lost the Super Cup to Al-Hilal, the league title after finishing third behind Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal, the King's Cup after being eliminated by Al-Taawoun, and the AFC Champions League after exiting in the semi-finals against Kawasaki Frontale.
This season, Ronaldo has lost three titles: the Saudi Super Cup to Al-Ahli, the King's Cup after being eliminated by Al-Ittihad in the round of 16, and the AFC Champions League after a 1-0 defeat to Gamba Osaka. Cristiano will have a chance to win the league title this season, provided he defeats Damac at home in the final match of the season at Al-Ahli Park.
