The Somali president meets some opposition politicians

 The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, met with high-level politicians and discussed with them political and security issues in the country, with a special focus on the issue of amending the constitution.

According to media reports, the two sides agreed on the need to continue political consultations and return the Puntland regional state to the National Consultative Council so that there is no division among the people.

The meeting, which was held at the presidential palace in Mogadishu, was attended by former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, former Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire, and representatives Abd al-Rahman Abd al-Shakoor Rasmi and Abd al-Qadir Asbali.
