The Somali Parliament concludes discussion of the first four chapters of the Constitution

The Somali Parliament, with its two chambers (the People's Assembly and the Senate), concluded the discussion of the first four chapters of the constitution during the twenty-ninth joint session that was held yesterday, Saturday, in Mogadishu.

The discussion of the four chapters began on February 12, 2024 and lasted more than 40 days, with most members of the Senate and the People's Chambers of the Federal Parliament engaged in difficult discussions.

At the end of the session, the Speaker of the Somali People’s Assembly, Sheikh Adam Mohamed Nur “Madube,” announced the end of the discussion on the four chapters, calling on the Constitutional Committee to summarize the proposals and recommendations made by the legislators during the discussions.
